Church History
Emmaus Missionary Baptist Church was founded in 1945; Reverend Orion Johnson was called to pastor. In August 2003 Rev. Eddie J. Faison was called to pastor. Pastor Faison and members of Emmaus missionary Baptist church reorganized and renamed the church to New Emmaus Missionary Baptist Church, Full Gospel Ministry Incorporated.
Pastor Faison is a native of Jacksonville Florida. He attended Emmaus Missionary Baptist Church as a child. After high school enlisted in the United States Army. He served 3 years active duty and 22 years in the U.S. Army Reserve. During the time of active duty he met his lovely wife Audrey. They have been now married for 25 years this coming August 5, 2007, raising three children and five grandchildren.
On a visit to Emmaus the formally named church, God called him to the pastoral ministry. Pastor Faison was ordained to carry out the ministry on May 18, 2003, but was installed on August 23, 2003. . Under the leadership of Pastor Faison the church became incorporated. Shortly after the installment he and the twelve members of the congregation renamed the church to New Emmaus Missionary Baptist Church Full Gospel Ministry Inc., and adopted the motto; "Where God's last commandment, is our first concern. "
